Build Your Own Fold-Away Shave Horse

Join us for a hands-on day creating your own traditional-style, fold-away shave horse, designed by us with inspiration from the classic English shave horse.

We’ll provide the pre-cut, treated and planed timber, along with everything you need to complete the build. We’ll show you how to assemble it and be on hand to help you throughout the day, so no previous woodworking experience is needed.

The finished shave horse is strong, practical and folds flat, making it easy to store or transport.

Turn It Into a Spoon Carving Mule

There’s more to our shave horse than meets the eye. It can also be converted into a spoon carving mule — a useful bench for holding wood while carving spoons and other small projects.

We’ll explain how the conversion works and provide instructions for you to complete it at home.

What’s Included

All timber, tools and materials are provided. Tea, coffee and biscuits will also be available throughout the day.
