Charcoal Making Course
One Day Charcoal Making Course 9.30am to 4pm
Join us in our wood near Warminster and learn about the ancient rural craft of charcoal making.
The course dates are flexible and it runs on demand, can be run at weekends and through out the week.
The course will cover the following:
· Sawing and Splitting Wood
· Unloading and loading the charcoal ring kiln
· Lighting the charcoal ring kiln
· Capping off the ring kiln
· Controlling the burn
· Shutting the ring kiln down
· Use a small retort kiln
· Take home a bag of charcoal
What's included in the price?
All tools and materials are provided and no previous experience necessary,
Light refreshments provided throughout the day, which will include the usual tea, coffee and biscuits.
Just help yourself to a cuppa whenever you fancy a break, as the kettle is always on.
We will do some crusty bread and vegetable soup at lunchtime for everybody
Please note this course will run from our Warminster site.
