Charcoal Making Course
This One Day Charcoal Making Course is one of our most popular courses and will run from our Warminster site from 9.30am to 4pm.
This course is well suited for small woodland owners, community woodland groups and conservation groups or anybody interested in low-volume charcoal production.
The course will cover the following:
· The history of charcoal making
· Health safety
· Making charcoal using a small traditional ring kiln
· Making charcoal using 45 gallon oil drums
· Making Biochar using 45 gallon oil drums
· Bagging up the charcoal
· Marketing and selling charcoal
The kettle will be on throughout the day for you to enjoy a cuppa (a selection of teas & coffees will be provided plus biscuits all individually wrapped).
The course is limited to 4 attendees to comply with COVID19 guidance.
You will need to bring sturdy shoes or boots and wear suitable clothing for working outdoors.
Minimum age is 18, younger students are allowed by prior arrangement please call us to discuss.
